Privacy Policy

This policy covers Amore: the Mac app, the command line tool, the AmoreKit frameworks and the service at api.amore.computer.

Amore is run by Lucas Fischer. Contact: xoxo@amore.computer

There are two groups of people in this policy.

  • Developers. You have an Amore account and you publish apps with it. Amore is responsible for your data.
  • Your customers. They buy and use your apps. You are responsible for their data. Amore only acts on your instructions. A separate page lists exactly what their Macs send. Link to it from your own privacy policy.

Data about developers

What Why Kept for
Your name and email address To run your account and to contact you Until you delete the account
Your password, hashed To sign you in Until you delete the account
Your apps, products and releases To publish and update your apps Until you delete them
Your Stripe keys To sell licenses through your own Stripe account Until you remove them
The public half of your update signing key To publish your update feed Until you delete the app
A license signing key, generated on the server To sign the licenses you sell Until you delete the app
Your subscription and billing record To bill Amore+ As long as the law requires

Amore does not sell your data. Amore does not share it with advertisers. Amore does not use it to train models.

Some things never reach Amore. Your code signing certificate stays in your Keychain. The private half of your update signing key stays on your Mac, so Amore can publish your update feed but cannot sign a release as you. Amore never sees your source code.

Data about your customers

You are the controller of this data. Amore is your processor. Amore stores it only to run the licensing service for you:

  • Name and email address, from the Stripe checkout
  • License keys, products and expiry dates
  • One device fingerprint and one device name per activated Mac
  • Stripe reference numbers

The What your app sends to Amore page describes each field, why it is sent and how long it is kept. Amore deletes this data when you delete the app, the product or the license.

Amore does not contact your customers except to send the license key and the customer portal sign-in link on your behalf.

Sub-processors

Company Purpose Location
Stripe Payments and subscriptions United States, European Union
Postmark Transactional email United States
Netcup Servers and database Germany
Cloudflare App downloads, update files and custom domain DNS Global

Amore has data processing terms with each of them.

Payments

Amore never sees a card number. Stripe handles every payment, both for Amore+ and for your own license sales. Your license sales run through your own Stripe account, so you are Stripe's customer, not Amore.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask for a correction, or ask for deletion. Write to xoxo@amore.computer. Amore answers within 30 days.

You can delete your account at any time from the Amore app. This deletes your apps, your products, your licenses and your customers' records.

Changes

Amore posts changes on this page and updates the date below. Significant changes go out by email as well.
